Inspirational Card Sketches #42

Good morning all you out in blog land! Today is Inpirational Card Sketch #42 Day and what a great sketch and sponsor we have for you. Today's sketch really lends itself well to feature some yummy designer paper or a really cute image like these little darlings that are called Candy Cane Snack from The Greeting Farm. I also used the hugs and kisses sentiment from the Keep Cozy Set from The Greeting Farm that could be yours if you play along at ICS this week and get picked as the lucky participant. I'm was soooo happy to work with TGF images again. I was on the summer gardener design team and what a wonderful DT experience it was. So organized and always planning events to involve the customers. That is smart business.

For my card I colored up the image with copics, used some more of that fabulous My Mind's Eye holiday paper, added some buttons, and some fun snowball ribbon. I did my ol' tracing on the inside of the nestie trick to pop the image out of the box and used the same nestie to cut out the frame. I also added some stickles on the Candy cane. One thing I have learned while working with digi images that if you are using an inkjet printer that you can print them out a day or two ahead and let them dry...then you won't have issues with ink smearing or need to heat set...unless your impatient like I am sometimes. Thank you for stopping by and for more inspiration on today's sketch please go visit the rest of the fabulous ICS DT girls listed in my sidebar.

Fresh Brewed Designs Blog Hop

TGIF! Today is release day for Heather at Fresh Brewed Designs. Her latest line is called Angel Cakes. Isn't that such a sweet name? I used two of those angels on today's cards, Birthday Angel Cake and Daisy Angel Cake. I have some very special birthdays happening this month so these cards will be going to those girls.

For these cards I use copics for coloring. The first card uses Basic Grey DP and the second card uses K&COmpany DP.

Be sure to stop by all the blogs and leave a comment because Heather is giving away an image to one person on each blog AND a grand prize of 7 images to one lucky person. Thanks for stopping by and get hopping!

Inspirational Card Sketches #41

It is Tuesday again and we all know what that means! A fabulous new sketch over at ICS. This week we have been sponsored by a company that has some super cute images DigiStamp Boutique. The lucky winner of this week's sketch will get a $15 gift card to Sally-Ann's store. Awesome!

For my card I used Chloe and snowball from DigiStamp Boutique. I colored up this cutie with copics. I put some stardust stickles on the snowballs and snow on the ground to go with all th esparkles that was already in the designer paper which is from My Mind's Eye. I also used a little pink Bazzill to add shimmer to the layers. That pink strip was created with one of the new Martha Stewart punches. For the tag, I used a SU tag punch and stamped it with a snow swirl stamp which I think is from Penny Black. I added Tea Dye Distress ink to the tag and the Kraft cardstock base.

You've probably noticed that I like to pop my characters outside of its box to add a little visual interest. I do this by picking a nestie that fits most of the image on the inside window, but is smaller than the image. I will then take a pencil and trace around the inside window...why the inside window? So that all you have to do is pop that same nestie into your cutter and you have your mat for the image. I still end up trimming my mat about 1/16" because I like a smaller width mat. I then cut around the pencil lines and image with scissors and erase any leftover pencils lines then attach it to my mat. Voila! Thank you so much for stopping by today. Please go and visit the rest of the DT listed in my sidebar for more inspiration on this sketch.
