Happy Spring all! The sun certainly was shining yesterday and I hope it does today as well. I'm ready for winter to pack up for the season. The Yoshino cherry, red bud, and cherokee princess trees are just about ready to pop. I planted them last summer so hopefully they survived the winter okay. The past week was spring break for the little one and she spent about 7 of the 10 days sick with a fever. She is finally feeling back to normal.

I have another adorable By LORi Designs image for you today. When I saw the yellow and white background designer paper from My Mind's Eye, I knew it had to be paired with this cutie. I colored the image with copics. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. I used Retro Sketches #57 for the layout.
Happy Spring All! Well spring has officially sprung here by the abundance of daffodils that are in bloom. Of course winter isn't ready to give up yet. I woke up to a blanket of snow on the ground yesterday morning. March is certainly a crazy weather month.

My card today uses an adorable By LORi Designs image called Sugar Sticks Derby Girl. The paper is from My Mind's Eye. The burlapish ribbon is from Stampin' Up. I colored the image with copics and used Deconstructed Sketch 94 for the layout inspiration. Make sure you visit the rest of the DT listed in my sidebar for some more cuteness inspiration.
Remember when I mentioned working on a quilt for the hubby's college friend? I finally took a picture of it. If you look closely, you can see koi swimming in water for the quilt pattern. That part was given to someone with a long arm machine. After three years in the making, it is finally done.
Happy Tuesday all! It is time for another look at the adorable By LORi Designs spring release. When I saw this paper pack I knew I had to use it for this sweet image. I'll have to update you with the name of the paper pack tomorrow. After I loaded my picture I noticed I forgot to added the blush to the cheeks. I will also do that tomorrow as well, but alas it is late tonight. I colored the image with copics and as you can see I let the papers do the talking this time and didn't add any additional embellishments.
Happy Tuesday all! I was hoping to get a bunch of chores and spring cleaning done over the weekend, but was only able to finish about 1/4 of what I wanted. I did pick up my quilt. Once I have the binding on, I will share a picture. For a while one of my bottom molar teeth that has a crown on it would get a zinger feeling when eating at times. Over the weekend it felt as if my crown was being popped on and off when I ate, so on Sunday while I was enjoying a sticky girl scout samoa cookie that popping feeling was very strong so I tried tugging on my crown slightly with my fingers and felt a slide. Of course I quickly slid it back into place. Fortunately I was able to get in to the dentist to get it fixed on Monday. My mouth feels so much better now. I had chipped my tooth eating a pretzel when I was pregnant with my daughter 6 years ago. I hope I never have to have another crown.

For my card, I use another sweet image from By LORi Designs. I colored the image with copics and kept the layout pretty simple. I think this would be a great card for one of those handy-man friends that come to help with home repairs or to keep your hubby from misuse of power tools. LOL. I also some black washi tape for some contrast and pop. Maybe this weekend will be more productive and include changing out some copic nibs.
Happy Tuesday all! I had a good long weekend and I'm not sure what all I got done. The kitchen is cleaned and some vacuuming was done but I think that is about it. I have a simple little card today that highlights an image from the new By Lori Designs line called Pedal Pushers.

This sweet image makes me so ready for the warmer days of spring. For my card, I colored the image with copics and I believe the background paper is from Echo Park. I kept things simple as I normally do and added just a little flower and jewel for some detail.
Happy Valentines Day! As promised I have another Oddly Sweet Curiosity card for you today. This image is called Moments and comes with the sentiment. It is part of the Susana Loves Stamps line available in the Susana's Custom Art and Card Design shop. I used a new product to me on this card on the light blue card stock. It is the Crafters Workshop - Pebble Stencil. I think I'm going to have to play with stencils more often because I like being able to create a pattern paper in a color to suit your needs. After adding the color I spritzed a little sparkle as well. I pulled most of the papers out of my scrap box, but I do know neutral check pattern is from Bazzill Basics Kraft. Sometimes a card just needs a good neutral to help tie it all together. I colored the image with copics and added some diamond stickles to the hearts.

I am so happy that I had to opportunity to guest design for SCACD and join a super talented design team for the week. I hope you have enjoyed my creations. Good day all! I spent yesterday with the little one who has strep. You wouldn't know she was feeling bad with as good as she ate, her activity level, and just her overall good spirited personality. She did sleep until after 9:00 am, so I hope that helped in her recovery.

I hope you enjoyed the Susanna's Custom Art and Card Design release hop last Friday. The DT really did an amazing job and I'm happy that I got the opportunity to join in on the fun. These images have been a blast to work with. Today's card uses *Retail Therapy* and is part of the Susana Loves Stamps Oddly Sweet Curiosities #4 line. For my card, I colored the image with copics and added diamond stickles to the green purse fur. For the flower I used the knob portion of the Ornate Doorplate with Knob die, a SCACD original die. I think it adds a touch of class to the card. What do you think? For the layout, I used Deconstructed Sketch #88.

Thank you for stoping by today. Tomorrow I have one more curiosity for you to enjoy. Happy Tuesday all! Have you been feeling the love from all the cute images from By LORi Designs? Well I have another image to bring in some more warm fuzzies. Valentine's is this Thursday and I'm trying to think of what to get those special people in my life. I think my DH would be happy with a peanut butter heart and the DD would love any stuffed animal that was really big.

For my card I used copics to color the sweet image. I once again turned to My Mind's Eye Love Me papers (I'm almost out). The flower I made from scrunched circles of scrap paper. I added diamond stickles to the hearts. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. The sketch I used is from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 177.
You can't really see it in the picture but I also put black spica pen on the cross-hairs of his button eyes. I used the Mojo Monday 279 sketch for the layout of my card.

Happy Tuesday all! Have you been feeling the love from all the Valentine's Day creations by all the By LORi Designs DT? I have to admit Lori makes it easy on us to create with all the cute images to work with. Here is another sweet By LORi Designs image that reminds me a little of Charlie Brown. I grew up watching Snoopy and the Charlie Brown gang so this little guy brings back those memories.

For my card I colored the image with copic markers. I added diamond stickles to the heart and die cut the XO. I'm still using my My Minds Eye 6x6 paper pack. I'm so happy that I am getting so much mileage out of that pack.

Have a great week and thank you for stopping by. Happy Tuesday! I hope you all had a good weekend. This past week has been a crazy weather week. First we got 5" of snow on Thursday. The temperatures dipped down to around 11 degrees F over the weekend. It normally doesn't get below 30 degrees in my little part of Maryland. Tomorrow it is supposed to be around 60 degrees.

Due to the cold, I didn't venture out to run very many errands which means I had a little more time to complete this week's By LORi Designs card a little early. I went a little different than a typical pink, red, and white Valentine's card. I thought with the grey and black would add a little less mush and a little more class. Again I'm working my way through my 6x6 pack of My Mind's Eye paper. This sweet image was colored with copics. I did try a little bit lighter of a skin tone than I normally use. I used a paper punch for the hearts and the layer with the black border is on pop dots. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

Just a quick post today. I created this card a long time ago and mailed it off to a friend's daughter for her 7th birthday. This card was NOT colored with copics. What was that you say? It is true. This image from CC Designs and is a part of the Swiss Pixie line. It was colored with re-inkers and an aqua pen during a visit with my besties Sandra and Kadie at Sandra's house last February. Sandra was giving us a lesson in watercoloring. What do you think? Did I pass? I have to tell you that watercoloring is a lot more time consuming and requires much more patience than using copics since you have to wait for different layers to dry. Maybe someday when my copics get used up I will try my hand at re-inkers again. Of course I could use a few more lessons and much more patience.

Happy Tuesday! I had a really good 4 day weekend. I managed to finish a quilt top that has only been three years in the making. I dropped it off on Friday to be quilted and then all I will have left is the binding. I managed to make two types of cupcakes...coconut with coconut cream cheese frosting and then a chocolate with peanut butter frosting. I also made this cute little Valentine.

For my card I used an adorable image from By Lori Designs. I colored the image with copics and added diamond stickles to the dress. I used My Mind's Eye and some scrap designer paper. The die letters and sentiment are from Papertrey Ink. I used a punch out heart and scrunched some free hand-cut circles for a floral embellishment. Just to add a little more interest I added some chevron and polka dot washi tape.
Good day all! As promised I have another love inspired creation for you. Can you feel the love? I found some more Valentine's Day for props. I had to work fast because my DD kept sneaking a few into her mouth. LOL.

For my card I used Lollipop Dylan Valentine from By LORi Designs. Isn't he just a cutie? I tried to pull in some masculine colors with the grey, black, and blue. I colored the image with copics and paired it with some My Mind's Eye designer paper. I added some black polka-dot washi tape then punched out some hearts. I popped up a few of the hearts with pop-dots.
Happy Monday all! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I actually spent some time in my craft space to clean, organize, and create. I created two cards this weekend, the one you see here and the one you will see tomorrow for By LORi Designs. It really feels good to take some time for myself to create.

For today's card I am using Ebony from The Greeting Farm. I actually had her hair and skin colored for over a year. Can you believe that?! Finally she has made her way to a card and she makes a perfect V-Day card for a teen. A little edgy and not overly pink. I colored Ebony with copic markers. The punch outs are from Papertrey Ink, Sizzix, and Stampin' Up. The designer paper is from My Mind's Eye. I love this pack of paper and will probably be using most of it up this month. Finally I added some diamond stickles on the headband and skull for a little pizzazz.

Happy New Year! My first post of the year and it is filled with love. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year Celebration. I don't think I have ever had such a busy December. I loved my time off between Christmas and New Year to just enjoy family and get some much needed R&R.

I went to Target to score some V-Day candy to include in this month's posts and I was so disappointed that the only V-Day candy they had out was M&Ms and Hershey's kisses at the checkout counters. So while DD was in ballet Monday evening I stopped by CVS and as you can see they were not lacking in the proper V-Day confections.

Lori has created a whole bunch of cuteness that is sure to bring on many smiles and warm fuzzies leading up to Valentine's Day. You can find this darling image along with many others in the By LORi Designs digishop. I used copic markers to color the image and diamond stickles on the heart. The die cut heart and sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. The designer paper is My Mind's Eye.
I can officially move onto the next holiday now that Thanksgiving is over. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I had a wonderful time with friends and family. I enjoyed staying in for the most part on Black Friday. I didn't get up crazy early to shop. I didn't get out of the house until around 10:30 am.

To help celebrate the season I used this adorable new image from By Lori Designs. I colored this cutie up with copic markers. I forgot to take a picture of the images by daughter colored so you can see how I pulled her colors into my images from last week and for this week's card. I will update the post tomorrow when I can take a good picture. Again I used Renaissance designer paper then used a Martha Stewart edger punch for the snowflakes. I added some diamond stickles to for an additional glittery snow affect.

I hope you have a wonderful week and stop by the rest of the DT listed in my sidebar for more seasonal inspiration.Mary Gileshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14261354419691694843noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-911556589253551954.post-10713347222209755972012-11-20T00:00:00.000-05:002012-11-20T00:00:03.201-05:00'Tis the Season...

'Tis the season to be jolly...falalalalalalalala...I can not believe Christmas is just around the corner and while many are out looking for that holiday great buy after Thanksgiving (in some cases the day of Thanksgiving), I'm going to be a sleep enjoying a cozy warm bed. I don't need to get anything for anyone to risk that kind of madness.

To start the next phase of the festival of holiday and festivities, I've created this cute little card. The image is from By Lori Designs. It is one of four new winter images. For my card I actually used the colors my daughter chose when she colored her images. I'll show her artwork next week. I colored the image with copic markers and paired him with Recollections designer paper. I picked up the little snowflakes from the LHS Scrapbook Nook.

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Thank you for visiting me and for more design team goodness just visit the list in my sidebar.
Hello all! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Mine was busy but good. I finished piecing quilt blocks and put all the columns together. The only thing I have left is to add the two borders before quilting it. The little one and her Daisy Troop marched in the Veteran's Day parade yesterday. It was her first parade. She really enjoyed it.

For today's project, I created a little box that uses an image from By Lori Designs. Well it is actually part of a design. The turkey is part of a bigger image, that I just cut out. I made the image big to get a good sized turkey. That is what makes digital images so nice. You can make them fit to your project. I colored this Tom with copic markers. The treat box pattern is a stamp from Inky Antics. You could use the treat box as a name setting at the Thanksgiving table. It would be nice to have a few after dinner mints in the treat box as well. Here I used M&Ms.

Here is what the box stamp looks like. It is vary similar to a sour cream pouch.

Hello all! It has been a crazy weekend as my household has been preparing to hunker down for the Frankenstorm Hurricane Sandy. Our propane tank is filled, I placed water bottles in the freezer, put the lawn furniture in the garage, made some oatmeal cookies, and actually made my project for today a bit early. That way if we are without power my post can still happen. All the D batteries in the stores were gone. Of course I should have bought some after the restock from Hurricane Irene last year. Oh well. As long as falling trees stay away from the house, I'll be a happy camper.

My project today is a little candy tube filled with M&Ms for Halloween or Hurricane Sandy survival, whichever comes first. I bought the tube at a little local craft shop called Scrapbook Nook. It was decorated with a little witch broom and the tag you see. I replaced the paper that was on the tube, added some different ribbon to the tag, added the "For You" and Frankenstein. The image is from By Lori Designs and the image is colored with my trusty old copics.
Hello All! It is that time of the week again where I get to share another creation that I have made with a By Lori Designs image. Today I used Little Big Storm. I think he is just a perfect little indian. I grabbed some papers from my scrap bin to coordinate with the red, yellow, and brown color theme. I thought those colors would be very fall-ish. The image is colored with copics and printed on Georgia Pacific paper. Since I lack the ability to embellish, I just stapled a piece of ribbon to the image.

I was in Michael's over the weekend taking the kiddo to a birthday party there and I couldn't believe that they already had Christmas stuff out!!! Pretty soon they are going to be putting Christmas stuff out on New Year's Eve. I just wish stores would let one holiday nearly pass before getting all crazy with the next holiday. Life is too rushed as it is.

I hope you all have a great week. Thank you for stopping by. Hello all! I love halloween and this year my daughter wants us both to dress up. We are going to dress up as Go-Go dancers. I can't remember the last time I dressed up for Halloween. It should be fun with my little mini-me.

It is Tuesday and that means I have a By Lori Designs image to showcase for you. I used Mummy Marvin for this simple Halloween card. I colored Marvin with copics. I was going to make him sparkle with some diamond stickles, but remembered only vampires sparkle...LOL. I used Authentique Enchanted designer paper. I couldn't think of any embellishments I wanted to add, so I just added the sentiment. I think the paper is razzle dazzle enough.

I hope you all have a wonderful week and thank you for stopping by. To see some more DT inspirations check out my side bar. Fall has finally arrived here. We went from mid-80s on Saturday to mid-50s on Sunday. Crazy weather I tell you. One of my favorite things to do when the temperatures turn cooler is bake. I really love to make cupcakes and cookies. I also love pumpkin anything. There is nothing that says fall like pumpkin pie, roasted pumpkin seeds, and of course Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte.

We have not gone to the pumpkin patch yet to get our pumpkins for decorating for fall and for Halloween. We plan to do that next weekend. This weekend was spent setting the salt water fish tank back up in our basement.

To bring in the fall my card today features a By Lori Designs image. This is Eliza from the Puddle Jumpers Thankful bundle. I can just smell that warm pie she is about to delivery to a lucky person. Of course the turkey is a sweet companion to keep her company. I colored the image with copic markers and pulled out some vintage Sassafras Lass designer papers. I finished off the card with a little brown and white plaid ribbon.
It has been a while since my last post. This has been a really busy summer. I expected this summer would be like the rest of them...laid back and relaxing. Boy was I wrong. I'm hoping the fall and winter will be slow. One of the things I'm looking forward to is getting back into my craft room. I had so much fun designing this card.

For my card, I used Witchy Prue from By Lori Designs. Isn't she just Boo-tiful? I colored her with copics and gave a candy corn themed dress. I accented the white areas with glitter glue for some added razzle dazzle. I use Georgia Pacific card stock to color my images on. The designers papers were pulled from my scrap bin.

One of the other reasons I like to be at my craft table is that my 6 yo daughter loves to color with me. Sometimes she wants to color her images the same colors as mine. Other times I take too long and then she picks her own color pallette. Here is the image she colored.
