Hanna Fans Blog Hop

Happy Monday all! My post is a bit early for the blog hop. The official hop time is at 10pm EST. So if you want to join in on the hop start at fabulous Frances' blog. If you are joining me from the life of the party Kelli Jo's blog then you are on the right track. Your next stop will be groovin' to the beat Gina's Blog. If you get lost or find a broken link the entire hop list is located in the Hanna Stamps forum.

I'm probably going to be thrown out of the family for this card. I made this for my mother in law's birthday. Good thing she has a great since of humor. On the inside I printed out the Bob Hope quote of "You know your getting old when the candles cost more than the cake." I also stamped the rocking chair which is also part of the Granny Hanny Set from Hanna Stamps. This set has sooo many fun images. The teeth in a glass being another one. For this Granny, I colored her with copics on Neenah paper. The designer papers are from October Afternoon. I got a couple packs of OA from Addicted to Rubber stamps when they were having their 25% of everything sale. Thanks for stopping by and don't forget the hop starts at 10pm tonight.

Swap for a Cause

Hi lovely blog girls, friends, and sisters! For my followers...remember this is Breast Cancer Awareness month and if you are in the age group to start getting mammograms make sure you get yours in. If not, then make sure you are doing your personal check every month. When I was making my blog rounds this week I saw on Jeannette's Blog a swap being hosted by Viv on SCS and for each person that signs up and swaps $1 be donated to breast cancer. How could I pass that up? This is the full card and I almost have the other 5 completed. I'll also make two more to send to others in my life.

For this card I used Breast Cancer Hanna from Hanna Stamps. I colored the girls up with copics. The papers are from SU, PTI, Bazzill, and Me&Big Ideas for the hounds tooth. I used a Martha Stewart Hydrangea punch to create the flowers. I also used the weekly Hanna Stamps Challenge HSC89. Thank you stopping by today. Have a wonderful day.

Happy Fall

I could feel the cool crispness in the air this morning and it felt soooo good. I love this time of the year when you don't have to wear heavy coats and just a sweater or sweatshirt will do. It is also a time of the year when there are many family and friend gatherings within a short time. Not to forget the starting of the baking season and soups and stews. Now that my Greeting Farm Gardener position is done I have been working on a posting schedule to help keep me organized and using my stamps. I have sooo many stamps that have not seen ink and I do want to change that. Some of those uninked stamps have been my Hannas. Expect to see at least one Hanna a week. For this card I used Fall Time from Hanna Stamps and Mercy's Tuesday Sketch #41(MTSC41). This is also for the Hanna weekly challenge HSC88 being hosted by Frances aka StampOwl. This week's challenge is to make a card/project using fall colors. Then on Copic Creations #13 the challenge is to use pumpkins. Three challenges in one! Woohoo! So I went to some very neglected Stampin Up designer papers and knew this Hanna would be perfect with them. I colored her up with copics and sponged the edges of the dp with vintage photo distress ink. I punched a leaf border with a Martha Stewart edge punch and added a button and a ribbon. Thanks for visiting today.

Team Player

Good Monday morning all! Sorry the the absolutely quick post. For this card I used SCS Sketch Challenge 241 and the Hanna Stamps Challenge HSC83 which was to use dew drops. I colored this Baseball Mini Hanna up with copics and used Cosmo Cricket designer paper. I realized later that she was suppose to have socks on and that she just didn't forget to shave her legs. Oh well, who needs to shave for baseball right? Have a great day!

Hanna Stamps Final Project - Bath Time!

Edited to add the frame.

Happy Saturday Hanna Stamps Fans! Hanna Stamps is in their second round of challenges for a Guest Designer. I am so super excited that I made it through round one. In the second round we must complete 3 projects, with one being a non-card item, using this adorable Riley taking a very relaxing bubble bath while enjoying some bubbly. You can now get your very own Bathtime Riley at the Hanna Stamps on-line store. All 15 girls will be showcasing thier final projects today. You can go to SCS and type in HSGDC3 to see the final projects. Be prepared to be astounded by all the talent.

My project is serving two purposes. One of course being the Hanna Stamps submission. The second as a "Thank You" gift for my Secret Sister Catherine. I still have one more Riley project to complete tonight to go along with the salt box and votive. I have always wanted to make a frosted votive holder and I thought this would be a lot harder than it was. The key was to make sure to use the embossing buddy before stamping and embossing. It looks really cute with a candle lit. For the Saltbox, I printed out a pattern I had from Stampin Up onto designer cardstock, cute it out and used my nesties to cut a window. I recycled the window film on the original salt box for mine. I colored up Riley with copics to coordinate with the packaging. For the Frame I decoupaged some paper to a wood frame(hopefully the colors coordinate with Catherine's bathroom), added some cuttlebugged letters, letters, and finally added some natural dried flowers. The whole room is colored with copics and also uses the new Hanna Stamps floor boards and brick wall. My thoughts for the wall was a studio apartment with some old exposed brick. There is crystal effects on the bubbles and bath bubbles. I hope Kristi, Vicki and my sistah Catherine like my projects. Keeping my fingers crossed! Have a great weekend!

G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S

Happy Saturday Hanna Stamps Fans! Hanna Stamps is in their second round of challenges for a Guest Designer. I am so super excited the I made through round one. In the second round we must complete 3 projects, with one being a non-card item, using the adorable stamps of Miss Sophie taking a very relaxing bubble bath while enjoying some bubbly herself. All 15 girls will be showcasing thier projects on Saturday for the next two weeks including today. You can go to SCS and type in HSGDC2 to see project two of the second round of projects. Be prepared to be floored by all the talent.

This is my second project in round two. The inspiration came from a song on the radio called...you guessed it Glamorous by Fergie. Thoughts of hot pink, black, and sparkle came to mind. Looking at my card now I can hardly believe I used no designer paper. Can you believe that? I made the bubble background paper by using a SU marker and inking up only the bubbles. I used nesties to create the frame, tag, and flower. I also used the nestie as a stencil to get the colors onto the paper. I first saw flowers done up with the stenciling and white dots from Tori Wild. I decided go with a black and white Sophie with hints of pink to add that old time Hollywood glam feel. Sophie is colored with copics. The bubbles are done with liquid pearls spinkled with white Doodlebug glitter. The frame has glimmer mist on it which is hard to see but I think the camera picked up little glints of it. The stamp is called Bathtime Sophie and the the sentiment is also from Hanna Stamps. Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Hanna Stamps Round Two! Treat Yourself.

Happy Saturday Hanna Stamps Fans! Hanna has a lot going on this weekend. First off the design team is giving previews to the stamps that will be available after their Release Party on August Third. You can see many of the inspirations on SCS by typing in HSDT. Your not going to want to miss this party. Hanna Stamps always has a fun, fast paced, busting at the seams laughing good time release party. Just go to the Hanna Stamps Forums on SCS and join the fun August 3rd.

The second thing that Hanna Stamps has going on is their call for a Guest Designer. I am so super excited the I made through round one. In the second round we must complete 3 projects, with one being a non-card item, using the adorable stamps of Miss Sophie taking a very relaxing bubble bath while enjoying some bubbly herself. All 15 girls will be showcasing thier projects on Saturday for the next three weeks including today. You can go to SCS Hanna Forums the see the first round of projects. Be prepared to be blown away at the talent.

For my first project I used this layout By Jenn Dierecks. When I first saw it, I immediately that of how perfect this would be to showcase Sophie. Okay first hard part done. Then I had to decide on the papers. Well the Pink Lemonade papers by Basic Grey came to mind. So all that was left was to color. I colored Sophie up with copics on vanilla PTI paper. I used liquid pearls and diamond stickles on her bathwater. I also used diamond stickles on the bubbles. Isn't she just the cutest! I hope the judges like it and I hope you have a relaxing weekend.

Arrrrrgh! It's Friday!

Update: Woohoo! I made into the top 15 for Hanna Stamps Guest Designer. Now for Round 2. I can't wait to see what we get to design with.

TGIF! I'm soooo ready for the weekend. For today's card I have a Moose Pirate. Riley Moose to be specific and you can find him at Hanna Stamps. I made this card for the Hanna Stamps Guest Designer call. They are looking for 6 designers to serve 2 month terms beginning in September. If you ever wanted to be part of a deign team this is a great opportunity. I really must have lost my head...LOL!...because I keep forgetting to grab my detail information so that is my priority this weekend. Update the past three posts with the details. On this card I used the 2Sketches4You Top 30 Sketch as the inspiration. I think that layout is really cool. I did however move the sentiment down because mine was so big but I HAD to use it. The sentiment is from the Doodle Factory Tropics collection. One of the things that I love to do with my sentiments is to give it a cliped tail either one side or both. If I do both most of the time I will make the center pop-up a little. I will cut the sentiment the use my bone folder to make the setiment curl a bit and then anchor either side with glue dots. Kind of like when you curl ribbon with scissors. I just like the effect it gives. I colored Riley up with copics and sponged the edges with tea dye distress ink. Because of the rule that black pants and brown shoes are not suppose to go together I added the blue color to kind of marry the two together and add a little pop. Of those yellow pants on Riley add quite the pop but I had to tie in the parrot beak somehow. I drew the lines for the shirt and the pant leg and waistband. Oh and every Pirate needs treasure so I added pearls in the scallops. I hope you enjoy the card and your weekend.

Let It Rain!

Happy Friday all! I was looking at the forcast this morning and it looks like rain for the next 4 days and we have had rain almost everyday this week. I guess that is what put me in the mood for this card and the fact that Hanna Stamps is having a Guest Designer call going on now for later this year. If you would to try out for the GD then you can find all the information on SCS in the Hanna Forums. This is one of my favorite Hanna Stamps and one of my first ones. I paper pieced the umbrella, jacket, dress, and boots. You can't really tell in the picture but the rain puddle was completely clear embossed to give it that wet look. I put one of Hanna's feet behind the sentiment and I popped up Hanna, the sentiment, and the puddle. I thought the Cuttlebug background needed a little extra umph, so I added some clear rhinestones in varying sizes. The sketch inspiration came from Our Creative Corner. Have a great weekend!

Skinny Boppin' Sophie

So a few girls and myself are in a skinny bop group to loose a little weight. Early on I made a bookmark using this stamp for each of the girls. Since then three more girls have been invited to join in on the fun. I made this card for each of them to welcome them and to motivate them. The idea behind the group is that for each goal of 10 pounds or 5 pounds the group will send some small stamping related goodie to help keep that person on track and motivated. I drew a cami and lace trimmed undies on Sophie. Otherwise I felt I might have to go and add some black bars across discretionary areas. Of course that could have been a funny card now that I think about it. Yes the papers are the same as used on the DF coffee dude and copics was used for the coloring.

Go Away Winter Blahs!

This is my March card for the Sisterhood monthly swap. When I found out the theme was something vacationy(probably not a word, but hey I'm also not an English major). The first thing that popped into my mind was the beach. Of course it would need to be on some remote area if I were to go to the beach. Why? Well let's just say there might be some calls into marine control about a beached whale. Anyway, I would love to loose my weight and go to a beach this year with my family. I would especially like to go to the Outerbanks. I've never been there and it sounds like so much fun. I made this card with Fun in the Sun from Hanna Stamps, MyMindsEye DP, and copics. The sand-dollar is a Martha Stewart Punch. Oh and you know I love raindots. I put some on Hanna's sunglasses to give them some dimension. Poor Hanna had her arm cut off from about the elbow down. I just didn't know how to handle it, so chopping it off and adding embellies seemed like the thing to do. Enjoy!

A Paper Piecing I Will Go

Here it is 1:30am and I just got finished with my Hanna Stamps Read My T bookmark challenge from their November release party. I tried out paper piecing for the first time and I really like the look it gives to my work, but it is labor intensive. Over all I'm pretty happy with it though. I like all the glittery elements on it that you can't quite see in the picture. Also the bright colors are perfect for keeping a cheery mood now that it is winter.

A Little Diet Project

I started a thread a while back on SCS called "Mmm, Skinny Bop Swap" to help a group of girls and myself to loose some weight. Well while many are doing good and reaching milestones to recieve happy mail, I unfortunately have gained about 5 lbs since the group started. Remember that Diet Sophie I mentioned that I won at the Hanna Stamps release party? Well I made a bookmark for the Skinny Boppers to remind them that I'm keeping tabs on them. I only have one made so far. I hope to get the rest made this weekend so I can mail them out next week.

My First Blog Post

Well I did it! I created my very own blog so that I can share myself and creativity with my wonderful friends that I have come across on SCS and all the friends and family that have been in my life for a long time. There is a lot to learn about a blog and I do hope to make improvements to mine as I learn how to navigate in the blog environment.

I should also probably include some inspiration in my first post. About a month ago I participated in some challenges that led up to the Hanna Stamps release party in October. I was so excited about this party because a dear SCS friend, B-gin-R, was selected to be their guest designer(which quickly turned into a permanent DT member). Anyway I made time for myself to make the cards you see below and I feel they are perfect for my first post since both coffee and late night submissions of them were involved. I hope you enjoy them.

I created this card for the embossing challenge. The right-hand border has clear embossing on it and I just love these colors together.

I created this card for the button challenge. I didn't win any of the card challenges, but I was very proud of myself for making some me time so that I could participate. I'm also very happy with the way the cards turned out. I did win a Diet Sophie during the party due to my lightening quick ability to do a Google search and answer a question. EEK! It's 12:30 am and I have to get up for work at 5:00 am. I guess that means a Starbuck stop on the way in to work in the morning.
