Winter Love

So did you all survive the Christmas Holiday? I survived mine and I must say that I really enjoyed kicking back and just enjoying friends and family even though the week before Christmas was all a frenzied blur. Today I heard that stores were going to be open at 6am for after Christmas sales! Really?! I looked at my loved ones all around me and just thought I have everything I need right in this room.

I can't believe that December is almost gone and I must give a BIG thanks to Sandy for posting for me on the SNS Digi blog in my frenzied state of mind last Saturday. The second card you see is what should have been posted last Saturday. It is called Gone Fishing and it along with the Be Mine Cocoa can be found in the SNS digi store. Which leads to the first card that uses the adorable Be Mine Cocoa. Valentine's Day will be here before we know it so let's get a head start. Both cards are colored with copic markers and I mostly pulled papers from my scrap bin...one of my New Year's resolutions.

I just want to take a minute to thank Korin and Sandy for having me as a Guest DT and congrats to the new upcoming DT. I really appreciate this opportunity and look forward to seeing the upcoming inspiration. It has been an absolute pleasure. And thank you for stopping by today. I have a lot of blogging to catch up on, but for the moment...I think it is time for bed. Please be sure to join me on Monday for a week long good time to bring in the New Year.

Christmas Critters

Updated: Sorry I had to remove the kitty image...I had the wrong one. Ooops.
Happy Saturday all! Can you believe Christmas is less than two weeks away? Eeek! I haven't even got to making Christmas cookies yet. This morning I'll be taking my 3yo DD to ballet then we are heading to my work that sponsors a kids Christmas party. There is a moon bounce, pizza, popcorn, and Santa gives a gift to each child (of course parents helped Santa pick out the perfect gift). We've been doing this every year since DD was born and she looks forward to it now.

Have you been enjoying the new releases and all the fabulous inspiration on the SNS blog? I know I have. You can find these images in the Sweet N Sassy Digi store. For my cards I colored the image sup with copics and pulled papers from my scrap box. I can't wait to see what the rest of the DT does with these adorable images. Have a great weekend!
SNS is having a design team call. If you have ever wanted to be part of a DT, this would be a great opportunity. Submissions are due by Dec. 28th.

Gloooooorooroooroor-ria in excelsis Deo

Angels we have heard on high
Sweetly singing ore the plains
And the mountains in reply
Echoing their joyous strains

That is exactly what I was singing when I made this card. This sweet Poinsettia Princess was another image released on Thursday by Sweet N Sassy Digis. Isn't she the sweetest? When I saw this image it reminded me of the children in a Christmas pagent at church with their little face beeming as they waved to mom and dad in the audience. Now what got me to singing this particular song was the shawl on the girl's shoulders reminded me of angel wings.

For my card I used last year's Basic Grey Christmas designer paper and matted that on some red, kraft, and white cardstock. I used my EK success punch to create the side border in the image and then attached a prima poinsettia flower with a Basic Grey brad center. The image was colored up with copics and her dress, shawl, and collar have diamond stickles on it.

I hope you all have a great weekend and enjoy all the festivities with friends and family that this month normally brings. Thanks for stopping by.

Release Day at Sweet N Sassy Digis

Happy Thursday! You know what that means? It is release day at the Sweet N Sassy Digi store. This is one of two new digis that are available today. It is called Winter Love and a design by Korin. I'll have another card to show you using the other digi on Saturday. You'll want to hop onto the digi blog for some more inspiration with the adorable digi and get the details for the party that is going on at SNR.

For my card I used copics to colors the image and I just can't stop using that My Mind's Eye holiday paper. It is so sparklie in IRL. The sentiment is from The Greeting Farm's Keep Cozy set. I used the Sweet Sunday Sketch #46 for the layout.

Okay a few follow-ups to some earlier stories...Remember when I told you about DD wanting a Nutcracker and how I found one at Jo-Ann's? Well This is a picture of her on Thanksgiving playing with her Nutcracker. Sorry for the blurriness of DD...I apparantly had my focus point in the wrong location. She loves that Nutcracker.

The decision on the Christmas tree...Don't buy a pre-lit tree that has lights on it that your family doesn't traditionally use. Because you will end up removing the lights and replacing them with the ones your family likes. It took me two days to remove all the white lights of the tree. It now has colored LED lights...now I'm not sure if I like it. Why? The LED lights give off a cool blue glow whereas traditional colored lights have a warm glow kind of like a fireplace. Of course the LEDs are more energy efficient and cool to the touch. DH loves the new LEDs and so does DD. I guess that is all that matters right? Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

A little news...

I was asked by Sandy from the Sweet N Sassy Digi design team to be a guest designer for December! Me? Really! What a fabulous surprise! There is going to be a release on December 3rd and I get to be your post host every Saturday in December. All I can say is thank you to Korin and Sandy for giving me this opportunity. Check out the other December Guest designer Melanie Holtz too. Every Thursday there is one to a few new images released for purchase at the Sweet N Sassy Stamps store and a FREE digi in the SNR & PCP groups every 1st & 3rd Thursday of the month. It doesn't get any better than cheap and free does it? You really need to check out all the cute images and stamps available and don't forget to play along with The Sweet Stop every Saturday for a sketch challenge. One of my stamping sisters Lorie Souther is on the DT there so this is exciting that we get to share Sweet N Sassy together. This is truly an honor.
