We are so excited today as we enter a new door here at Oh, Alice! There are always twists and turns down Alice's path, and with that, we have some good news, even some sad news, but we are all looking forward to our next Chapter here in WONDERLAND!

Chapter 13: Mushroom Inspiration

Oh dear! I'd nearly forgotten that I've got to grow up again! Let me see--how IS it to be managed? I suppose I ought to eat or drink something or other; but the great question is, what?

Alice looked all round her at the flowers and the blades of grass, but she did not see anything that looked like the right thing to eat or drink under the circumstances. There was a large mushroom growing near her, about the same height as herself; and when she had looked under it, and on both sides of it, and behind it, it occurred to her that she might as well look and see what was on the top of it..."

For my card I used Sassy Alice and colored her with copics. I tried to pull a lot of the colors out of the inspiration picture. I think I missed light purple. I also tried a little something different with Alice's hair. When I was in my dentist office a few weeks ago I noticed that one of the receptionists had blonde hair on top with black hair on the underneath. It looked pretty cool. Not a look I could pull off, but I made note to try it out on some images. Well this image just called for the two-tone look. I think it adds to the Sassy. What do you think, thumbs up or down? I used Basic Grey DP and it doesn't show up on the camera but the flowers have Twilight glimmer mist on them and the white trim on her dress has glitter spica on them.

Since we are talking about those two curious little Tweedles, Dee and Dum today, let's get right down to your mission this week, should you choose to accept it! For my card I used the Chesire Cat. Who wouldn't love that grin? My card is pretty simple as I didn't want to make the card too busy with that fabulous paper from DCWV. I did place purple twinkle rhinestones in the circles above the owl's head but they are very hard to see. I think there is also a typo in the sentiment stamp. Can you find it? I colored the kitty with copic markers and when I cut him out I decided to leave a thin border of white to help him pop.

Chapter 10: Queen of Tarts...

"On this the White Rabbit blew three blasts on the trumpet,

and then unrolled the parchment scroll,

The Knave of Hearts, he stole those tarts,

And took them quite away!"

Uh ohhhhhhh...someone has stolen the Queen's Tarts! That's a no-no! We need to restore the sweetness back to Wonderland, don't you agree? That means it's time for a sweet treat here... or maybe a mushroom or two? I think I saw one floating around here that said "Eat Me" ;)

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to incorporate FOOD into this week's project! Everyone loves a little treat, right?

For my card, I thought I would bring a little forbidden fruit to Wonderland. I used Yummalicious Edward from The Greeting Farm and added in the Hatter's hat. I think Bella might have a little competition from Miss Alice. Again I used some fabulous October Afternoon paper and circled the date for the next Twilight movie release. I can't wait and I'm not going to be late for that one. LOL. I thought the apples would be a perfect pairing since that is on the cover of the first book.

For my card, I flipped the sketch and I used an image from our very own Jen Schults of The Wild Flower Patch. Many of you have asked what color of copics I use for this particular blonde hair. The colors are E50, E42, and E43.

CHAPTER 8: You can learn a lot of things from the FLOWERS...

`Never mind!' Alice said in a soothing tone, and stooping down to the daisies, who were just beginning again, she whispered, `If you don't hold your tongues, I'll pick you!'

There was silence in a moment, and several of the pink daisies turned white.

`That's right!' said the Tiger-lily. `The daisies are worst of all. When one speaks, they all begin together, and it's enough to make one wither to hear the way they go on!'

`How is it you can all talk so nicely?' Alice said, hoping to get it into a better temper by a compliment. `I've been in many gardens before, but none of the flowers could talk.'

Hello everyone! What a sweet, sunny sign of Spring it is when all of our floral friends come out to play! At the Oh, Alice! Blog, we definitely agree with Alice that you can learn a lot of things from the flowers! This week's challenge? You got it! USE FLOWERS on your card or project!

For my card I used the Anya from the soon to be released Spotlight scrapbooking set by The Greeting Farm. I colored Miss Anya with my copics to look like Alice. I also used some fun Pink Paisley paper and My Mind's Eye. I used Mercy's Sketch Challenge #68 for the layout inspiration.

CHAPTER 5: WHOOOOOOOO RRRRRRRRRRR YOUUUUUUUU?

This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, "I--I hardly know, sir, just at present-- at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then."

Chapter 4: Picturing Wonderland

CHAPTER 3: Painting the Roses Red

Would you tell me please," said Alice a little timidly, "Why are you painting those roses?"
Five and Seven said nothing, but looked at Two. Two began in a low voice, "Why the fact is, you see, Miss, this here ought to have been a Red rose tree, and we put a white one in by mistake"...

ALICE GETS GLAM: INSPIRATION CHALLENGE

In anticipation of the upcoming Tim Burton remake, let's GET GLAM with Alice! Jessica recently scored this UBER fab makeup palette by Urban Decay and fell in love with the awesome colors, the NAMES of the eyeshadows (all after Alice, of course ;) and the pop-up mushroom mirror!

For my card I use an image from the original designs for the book and you can pick up those images at Lenny's Alice in Wonderland Site. Since the kit focused on the mushroom, Alice, and mushrooms, I decided to use the above catepillar image. You may have noticed that I colored only the focal points that were in the kit. I also tried to use some of the colors that were similar. I must say this kit is absolutely gorgeous in real life. Yes I do have one, but no I do not know how to use it.

A Little Curious News...

I am sooo excited to be working with Jess and as I'm writing this I have no idea WHO the rest of the team is, but I know they ARE going to be fabulous because Jess has an eye for spotting talent...I'm just flabbergasted that I get to be part of the launch for Oh, Alice! YOU really need to go check it out if you haven't already. Jess did an amazing job on creating a beautiful blog and to celebrate I created a quickie door card using an Alice in Wonderland inspired set from The Greeting Farm and the flourishes from the Growing in Unity set by the Unity Stamp Company. Miss Alice is colored with copics and the whole card was inspired by the blog banner. I'm so looking forward to playing along on these challenges and I hope you will join us.
