Chapter 13: Mushroom Inspiration

Oh dear! I'd nearly forgotten that I've got to grow up again! Let me see--how IS it to be managed? I suppose I ought to eat or drink something or other; but the great question is, what?

Alice looked all round her at the flowers and the blades of grass, but she did not see anything that looked like the right thing to eat or drink under the circumstances. There was a large mushroom growing near her, about the same height as herself; and when she had looked under it, and on both sides of it, and behind it, it occurred to her that she might as well look and see what was on the top of it..."

Yay! It's the weekend! Today at Oh Alice we have a fabulous inspiration piece for you and are SO excited to get to this week's challenge. Here is your inspiration photo for this week's challenge:

We can't WAIT to see what you do with this week's challenge, and are even more excited to announce that this week, Oh, Alice is being sponsored by the wonderful Victoria Case Art Designs!! How awesome is THAT? And just WAIT until you check out the Prize! Victoria is SUPER generous and is offering 5 SINGLE Rubber Stamps to one lucky winner! Can you believe that?!? Thanks so much, Victoria!

For my card I used Sassy Alice and colored her with copics. I tried to pull a lot of the colors out of the inspiration picture. I think I missed light purple. I also tried a little something different with Alice's hair. When I was in my dentist office a few weeks ago I noticed that one of the receptionists had blonde hair on top with black hair on the underneath. It looked pretty cool. Not a look I could pull off, but I made note to try it out on some images. Well this image just called for the two-tone look. I think it adds to the Sassy. What do you think, thumbs up or down? I used Basic Grey DP and it doesn't show up on the camera but the flowers have Twilight glimmer mist on them and the white trim on her dress has glitter spica on them.

You have until Friday, May 20th at 8pm CST to enter to qualify for this awesome prize! Be sure to link your creation using Mr. Linky and if you're uploading to a public gallery, please use OAC13 as your keyword. Good luck, everyone and have a CURIOUS week!We have a feeling the entries are going to be amazing this week, and to kick-start your mojo, just check out the rest of the DT's creations:

Do You Feel Lucky?

Well this Friday The Man(hehehe I have to give Sandra credit for this one) and I celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We have known each other since we were in the sixth grade and started dating our first year in Highschool while at band camp(One time at Band Camp...LOL I couldn't resist). So we have actually been together for 19 years. That is over half of our lives! How crazy is that? Even though I like to give The Man a hard time every once in a while...I couldn't ask for a more loving husband and best friend. To see him with our now 3 year old daughter makes me fall in love with him all over again. If you don't know or haven't guessed it I made the card up in The Ohio State University (Go Bucks!) colors. The Man and I both graduated from OSU and are die hard Buckeyes. So when I saw Sketch #13 (thus the title) from the Victoria Case Challenge blog, I thought that would be perfect with the Steal A Kiss stamp which is also from Victoria Case. I change the sketch up a little, instead of an oval I used a square. I think that made the card have a little bit more of a masculine feel. The sentiment is from Artful Inkables and I added some heart shaped raindrops to tie in the red with the rest of the card. I noticed after I took the picture I forgot to put on a tiny twinkle for the girl's earring. She does have one now so just imagine it is there. The designer papers are from Basic Grey and I colored the image up with copic markers. Sorry I have lately been sporadically listing what markers I use. I have organized my markers in my tote by color families and once I get done with a set of colors I immediately put them back into their spot, meaning I forgot to write down the colors. I'll try and get better at that. It is all about routine. I hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

Happy Birthday!

I made this card for a very talented and funny friend on SCS. She is German so she is sometimes asking us for translation of our American slang. It can be quite entertaining as many of those in the Sisterhood know. LOL! Tanja this will be on its way to you tomorrow. Hopefully it makes it in time. For this card I played along with the Victoria Case Challenge #10. The challenge is to use dark blue, light blue, and ivory. I'm barely making it for the challenge if Victoria is going by Vegas time. Hehehe. This digital image is from Victoria Case and is called Cake and Candles. I colored the image with copics and use a piece of K&Company DP along with SU Night of Navy and PTI Vanilla. Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Meet Emilio

Meet Emilio. He is a card I made for a Monster Swap hosted by the super sweet Miss Kelly. He will be leaving Maryland tomorrow, just in time for the deadline of the swap. He wanted me to wait until the last minute so that he wouldn't have to be in the dark for too long. At least that is my excuse. This stamp is Monster Bedtime from Victoria Case. The sketch for this week paired with this monster reminded me of the taggies blankets that babies just love to feel. I thought by making ribbon tags around the square would have the same effect and keep this sensitive guy comforted on his trip to Florida. LOL! I played along with the Victoria Case Stamp Challenge #9 for this card. He is colored with copics. I'll get the rest of the deets in a little later. Sorry for the poor picture quality. It was late and my camera does not co-operate very well with yellows, oranges, and yellow greens unless it is daylight. I didn't think to take another picture this morning as I already had all the cards packaged up. Lesson learned.
Karen this is for you. These are my markers and how I "organize" them. I got this wonderful carrying case from Archiver's and it perfectly holds all 213 of my copics. I really should put them into groups but I find taking a break and looking for the colors I want a little relaxing. I also keep a color sample swatch with my markers. That way I look at the sample to see what goes with the papers I've chosen then I go to my marker tote and grab the markers.

Worm Thoughts

Hi all! Well I played with a super cute free digi image from Victoria Case Art Designs last night(see my right side bar to get your own). She is giving this image away to help kick-off her new releases on May 23rd. I don't have many digital images (I think a total of 4 right now) because I just really didn't know how to use them. I tried printing one up on an ink jet and it smudged something awful. I found out that a laser printer works best and for many mediums of coloring. I like how you can get a crisp image and pretty much size it to fit your needs. Oh and space savings is a plus too. The sketch inspiration came from Madelynn's Twinkling Tuesday. This week her brother Jack was the sketch artist for MTTSC23. Please join me tomorrow because I'll have two lovely butterflies to show you.
