Parent Testing

Ahhh the joys of being a teenager. A stage I'm both looking forward to and also not looking forward to with my 3 yo DD. I think if there is any stage that really puts a parent to the test it has got to be the 13 - 18 years. Hopefully when push comes to shove one thing they will turn to when faced with a difficult decision, the foundation that we as parents have laid down for them. Any tips or stories about the teenagers in your household?

For today's card I used Rock Out Chibi from the Greeting Farm. I colored him with copics and added bit of jelly roll stardust to his belt buckle. I paired him with some Cosmo Cricket papers. I used Sweet Sunday Sketch #59 and Copic Creations Challenge #23 which is to use a bit of green.

Thank you for stopping by and have a fabulous day! Please join me tomorrow for a card kit showing with two of my chicas.

The best advice I ever got was from my sister in law when my son was 13. She has 4 kids and I only have one so I listened, lol. She said pick your battles. I took that to heart and it made out lives so much easier. My brother has two teen daughters and he says he wishes he could be more laid back about stuff like cleaning their rooms and such. My rule, if its a pigsty the door has to stay closed, I dont want to see it. My main rule for the house was respect. We would respect him as long as he showed us the same. We had a remarkably easy teen years compared to others. Though I still cant wait for him to have a teen so he will know what its like, lol.

Your card is just a perfect teenage card :-D
I do not have a teenager in the house yet, but I think it's important not to forget your own teenage time and of course pick your battles.

I was very good and quiet for the most part as a teen. Hopefully Hannah will be the same, and TR for that matter, lol. At 8 *almost* I have been tested, seen mood swings, heard about boys and how she hates them *whew* but flirts with them *ahhh* so I for one DREAD the teen years, lol!!!

This card is absolutely adorable! I LOVE his green hair and those fantastic papers! WOW~! HOW funny and true is that statement on the card as well. LOVE IT! :D

What a fabulous card - I love the green hair and the sentiment!
I think my 9 year old son has 'hit teens' already - I am often accused of 'ruining his life' when I am telling him he shouldn't do something, eg when I told him at 5.30am this morning that he was not to be playing on his Nintendo DS and he should be trying to get back to sleep, and he seems to get quite hysterical over the slightest thing!! I am dreading his teens, but my friends say we may be lucky and he'll stop speaking to us altogether!!
As for my 5 year old daughter - I dread what she is going to say next - last week she announced that she'd been kissing all the boys at school!
Have a lovely day.
Love, Andrea xx
