Copic Formulas

Good morning all. I've been working on a few other projects this week so sorry for the lack of posts, but I will be returning tomorrow with a Farm Fresh Friday card for The Greeting Farm. I will also update this post to include color samples for each and add some other formulas as I figure them out. Some of these I have learned from others and there are some that I have tweaked from others. Then there are those that I just made up.

Skin
Caucasian: R00(all over), E00(all over), E11(shadows), E93(cheeks), R00(all over)
African: E13(all over), E17(shadows), R85(cheeks), E13(all over)
Latina: TBD
Asian: TBD

I follow-up with the lighter color again to help blend the edges. some colors don't give a creamy look when blended and will appear mottled instead. So that is why I'm still working on the Latina and Asian skin tones.

Hair
Brown: E35(all over), E57(feather), E47(feather), E35(feather)
Blonde: TBD
White Blonde: E50(all over), E42(feather), E43(feather), E50(feather)
Red: E17(all over), E19(feather), E27(feather), E17(feather)
Black: C5(all over), C7(feather), C9(feather), C5(feather)

I will break the hair into sections to color. Just like you would for fixing your own hair. I will color a whole section in with the lightest color, then feather with the next color from scalp then again from the tip of that section leaving a small section in betwen the two on a curve where a highlight would be. I would then do the same thing with the next darkest color, but not going as far as the previous feathering. I will then follow-up with the lightest color using the feathing technique again, but cross it into the highlight area. Using the feathering technique helps me give the hair texture. Feathering is where you start on one side and pull your marker to another side and flicking up at the end so that you have an end that gets thin to a point.

General
Red: R24(all over), R29(1/4 to 1/2 in shadows), R59(1/8 to 1/4 in shadows)
Deep Red: R24(all over), R46(1/4 to 1/2 in shadows), R59(1/8 to 1/4 in shadows)

I will update this over the weekend with samples.

awesome!! I am keeping a close eye on this! I am always stuck for coloring skin. I just do an all over of whatever I grab first. I think it will be great to try different nationalities! I also wanted to expand my copic collection; but didn't know what colors to buy. *waiting patiently* THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
