Playing with Water

I have two cards to show you today to help bring in the weekend. I will post them separately for easier viewing. BTW this Rain Anya is my 100th card I made this year. Well you know how I really love trying to figure out a technique and water coloring with re-inkers or stamp pads have been one of those techniques to elude me. I have even consulted with Sensei Sandra and the water just didn't paint me a pretty picture. So I've been thinking "What is it that is making this soooo difficult for me?" You want to know what I came up with? It all boiled down to control. I felt I had no flow control with the aqua pen(I'm pretty sure this is just operator error) so I thought why not just try a good old fashioned regular paint brush and dip it in a little water. While I'm no expert and certainly not a master, I am pleased with the way this Miss Anya Rain from TGF turned out. I kept to one shade while practicing...so maybe next time I will add other colors to get more depth and texture.

Inks: Staz-On Black, Going Gray, Blush Blossom, Chocolate Chip, Cranberry Crisp, Pretty in Pink, Blue Bayou
Stamp: TGF Miss Anya Rain
Paper: Canson, PTI Chocolate, Bazzil Blue, K&Company Daydreams DP

Mary, she looks gorgeous! your painting is beautiful! You said you were going to play more with shadows in the future (and you may already know this, so forgive me if I am being forward) but because watercolors (and re-inkers) layer nicely and still let all of the colors sort of shine through, sometimes the most beautiful shadows are made using the opposite color of what you are working with - like green with red, purple with yellow, blue with orange. it is fun to play with. :-) Traci
